Nine services to keep Jersey's trees healthy and safe

From planting to preservation, we handle every aspect of professional tree care with knowledge rooted in Jersey's unique landscape.

Tree assessments and consultation

If you’re looking for on-point arboreal advice, we can arrange a visit from one of Jersey’s few qualified tree inspectors. Better still, take-up or renewal of Jersey Trees for Life membership makes you eligible for a free consultation worth £45.

Tree selection, supply and planting

Planting the right tree in the right place is incredibly important, as is ensuring it’s planted correctly to give it the best possible start. We can guide you through the selection, supply and planting process to make this happen.

Pruning and aftercare

Effective pruning and ongoing aftercare are important ways to increase a tree’s chances of thriving, especially if it’s young. We offer a range of environmentally friendly services, provided by people who care about getting it right.

Hedge trimming, branchage and maintenance

We can trim or branchage your hedgerow using techniques that avoid damaging bark, exposing soil to the elements or causing harm to wildlife. Our techniques are accordingly low-impact and based on best practice as advised by Jersey Branchage Group.

Pollarding

Pollarding reduces all of a tree’s branches and stems back to the trunk to keep it safe and manageable while promoting regeneration. We pollard during winter, minimising the risk of damage and wildlife disruption, and recycle cuttings as woodchip or mulch.

Crown reduction and reshaping

Crown reduction manages tree size and shape for reasons including safety and tree health, while crown thinning reduces density to improve light and airflow. We have stacks of related experience and carry out our work with environmental responsibly in mind.

Orchard and fruit trees

We’re old hands at planting and looking after fruit trees locally. If you’re considering planting an orchard or seeking guidance on how to manage your existing one, our team can assist.

Woodland management

If you’re a landowner interested in creating new woodland, we can offer a wide range of advice on matters such as identifying species for planting and removal, managing competing species, creating new wildlife habitats and ongoing care of your land.

Felling and removal

Sometimes it’s best for a tree to be felled, often due to damage caused by pests, diseases or storm damage. Our team is highly experienced in these situations, always considering environmental concerns such as nesting while carrying out work.
