Where our work takes root

Adelina Woods is a small but popular woodland on the outskirts of St Helier. Created in 2004 on a former brick works site, it now has over 120 young trees, providing valuable green space and canopy cover in a crowded parish.

The Alder Collection is a nationally accredited arboretum in rural St Brelade. Planted in 1991 along a valley floor for restoration and research purposes, 13 of the original 18 Alnus species remain today, comprising over 30 mature alders in total.

Egypte Woods is a deciduous woodland on Trinity’s north coast. Once full of oaks and sycamores, it’s now the subject of a long-term rejuvenation project to address vital issues and upgrades including maintenance and expansion.

Our nursery at Howard Davis Farm is a temporary home for thousands of trees and whips each winter as they wait to be planted out. It is also where we grow a supply of trees for our projects and for members of the public to purchase.

La Moye Woods is a new woodland in south-west St Brelade. Planted in 2024-25, an area previously overgrown with aggressively proliferating species is now a diverse mix of healthy young trees, all hand-picked for their environmental suitability.

Mont Vibert Woods is a pocket of roadside land in eastern St Ouen. Since 2022 it’s been transformed from unattended sycamore thicket to thriving young woodland, full of species hand-picked to fit their environment and support biodiversity.

Val de la Mare Arboretum is a spectacular collection of tree collections that brings specimens from around the world to western St Peter. Seeded in 1975, it’s thriving once again after a spell of disrepair and is now more popular than ever.

Every year we plant thousands of trees and whips for our Winter Planting Campaign. Focused on agricultural hedgerows until 2024, its scope now includes restoration and rejuvenation projects in parks and other community spaces.
