La Moye Woods
Created during the winter of 2024-25 in partnership with Greening Jersey, La Moye Woods is a young woodland on government land in St Brelade that had become heavily overgrown with sycamore, bracken, bramble and other species that proliferate to the detriment of others.
Following a concerted clear-up, a carefully planned planting programme and regular maintenance, the woodland is now flourishing with hundreds of new trees and whips of predominantly native species such as bird cherry, sweet chestnut and walnut. We’ve also built a large dead hedge and kept the not-so-desirable species at bay through ongoing upkeep, helping give the woods’ new tenants the best possible chance to thrive.
Thanks to Greening Jersey for providing the funding and volunteers that have been integral to the creation and upkeep of this beautiful new woodland.
Visit La Moye Woods
The nearest parking is at Les Creux, on the other side of Route Orange (250 metres). From Red Houses, follow Route Orange past the school and shop before turning left into the stone arch of Les Creux Country Park, opposite the petrol station. From Corbière or the west coast, it’s a right turn off Route Orange.
La Moye Woods is directly adjacent to the Railway Walk, which scenically connects Corbière and St Aubin for walkers, runners and cyclists. If you’re heading across from Les Creux, you can cut through Clos Orange.

What we've achieved together
Since our foundation as Men of the Trees in 1937, we’ve evolved to become an important part of the community, planting and protecting thousands of trees while helping people to understand and appreciate their importance to our existence.
