Winter Planting Campaign

Launched in 2007, the Winter Planting Campaign has seen Jersey Trees for Life plant hundreds of thousands of hedgerow whips and thousands more larger trees, thereby creating habitat corridors for wildlife, sheltering livestock, reducing soil erosion and supporting increased biodiversity.

Since Storm Ciarán in 2023 we’ve divided our planting time between agricultural hedgerows and other restoration and rejuvenation projects. These include replanting the storm-stricken Railway Walk in 2024-25, planting around the new solar fields at Sorel Point and Rue d’Olive in 2025-26 and replacing lost specimen trees in prominent public spaces such as Coronation Park, Howard Davis Park and Sir Winston Churchill Park.

Over the coming years the Winter Planting Campaign will remain focused on restoring the island’s hedgerows, rejuvenating our woodlands and replenishing our parks and arboreta. It’s also a great opportunity for volunteers to get involved in planting and meet like-minded people.

Contact us if you have land on the north coast or agricultural fields that are missing hedgerows.

What we've achieved together

Since our foundation as Men of the Trees in 1937, we’ve evolved to become an important part of the community, planting and protecting thousands of trees while helping people to understand and appreciate their importance to our existence.
