Strawberry Fields November

Join Jersey Trees for Life for a morning of tree and hedgerow planting in the honesty box heartland of rural St Lawrence.

November 27, 2026
Tree Matters, St Lawrence

We're looking for volunteers to help us plant trees and hedgerow at Joe Freire’s Strawberry Fields in St Lawrence on the morning of Friday 27 November.

If you fancy getting outside for a bit of fresh air and healthy activity while doing good for the environment and having fun, come along and join us.

We'll meet at 9.30am at La Hougette in La Route de Saint-Jean, home of Joe’s business, Tree Matters.

Directions

From the south, turn into Mont Cochon at First Tower and continue for about 3.7 km before taking the turning on the left at Joe Freire's honesty box, directly into Tree Matters (pictured).

From the north, there are myriad routes you can take but the easiest (if not necessarily quickest) is to find your way to Carrefour Selous, turn (or cross) into Rue Parcqthée and follow the road, now La Ruette, as it bends downhill. At the junction turn left into La Rue des Bas and continue for about 1 km until you get to a crossroads at La Route de Saint-Jean. Turn right, continue for about 300m and turn right again into Tree Matters.

If you have any problems finding us on the day, please call Alex on 07797 774676.

For those joining us, please bear in mind the following:

- First-time volunteers need to complete a one-off volunteer agreement before attending; if you consent to emails, you'll receive our monthly volunteer update.

- Check the forecast and wear or bring layers and a hat, or sunscreen, as appropriate.

- Ensure you bring protective gloves, e.g. gardening gloves.

- Avoid exposing your skin to bites, scratches and stings by wearing long sleeves and trousers (light material is good).

- You may get tired so don’t push yourself too hard; take it at your own pace.

- Bring snacks and drinks to maintain energy levels.

- We provide equipment,

- Ask lots of questions and have fun!

Jersey Trees for Life regularly hosts extra open volunteering, sometimes at short notice, so keep an eye on our website and social media.

We look forward to seeing you.
